                        Karachi, November 15, 2024
In a bold move to protect public health, the Sindh Food Authority (SFA) sealed a warehouse in Mehran Town, Korangi, belonging to an international brand distributor. Shocking violations of food safety standards were uncovered during the inspection led by Mehboob Bhatti, including:
27,000 packets of expired Aldiva chocolates
                        660 bottles of Harnilla honey
930 bottles of Hutesa olive oil
400 bottles of Nature Home peanut butter
Tampered expiry dates were found, and expired products were stored with fresh ones.
A dead mouse and filthy conditions, including dirty floors and utensils, highlighted the complete lack of hygiene.
Director General SFA, Muzzamil Hussain Halepoto, expressed grave concerns over the situation, emphasizing the authority's zero-tolerance policy towards such malpractices.
The warehouse has been sealed, and strict legal action is underway.
Public health comes first! Let’s ensure we consume safe, quality food. If you suspect unsafe practices, report to the SFA immediately.
